Vektormusik was founded around 2002 in
Aalborg (DK) by Thomas Ahlmark and Kristoffer
Jørgensen. Both part of a degenerating music scene mainly
focusing on rock music striving for the radio. Common interest in a
different, open-minded music scene brought them together at
numerous underground electronic venues.
Vektormusik spend some time discussing and playing with the vast
subgenres hidden in the electronic music. Vektormusik has kept the
interest in exploring the fragments of genres and modern music
technology, which leaves Vektormusik in a private room founded on
creative forces such as impulsiveness, improvisation and focus on
hand- and humanmade tonallity.
In 2006 Vektormusik released there first EP on the Århus
(DK) based label Electraros. The process of making the EP guided
Vektormusik in there present musical form in the studio, and the
live concerts played afterwards gave Vektormusik a keen knowledge
and experience on how to perform live concerts. A concept which is
further elaborated as the dou has become even more focussed on
which musical skills they posesses. In 2007 Vektormusik signed a
record deal with Rump
Recordings, a Copenhagen based label which includes artists
such as Rumpistol (DK), Karsten Pflum (DK), System (DK), Acoustic
(DK), Badun (DK), Bjørn Svin (DK) and Icarus (UK). The
Interfoliere EP was released on Rump Recordings in the summer of
2007 and it gave Vektormusik the opportunity to fine tune the
concept of performing live locally and outside of Denmark.
In order to maintain focus and keep exploring the endlessly
electro acoustic soundscaping Jody Ghani (violin/harp), Georg Stiefenhofer (violin/viola) and Jakob Nielsen (kontrabas)
joined Vektormusik. From being a two man knob twiddling project
Vektormusik is today a full blown orchestra with focus on acoustic
instrumentation and the merge of these into electronic compositions.
The official press-release is to be found on the Rump Recordings
homepage.
